| This program, our most popular extended visit, has been created for travellers who would like to combine a visit to the Amazon rainforest with a trip to the Galapagos Islands in a short time! This option includes 4 nights Galapagos cruise on board Coral I (First Class Yacht). Other range yachts alternatives can be arrange. |
Day 1 .- Arrival to Quito. Transfer to Hotel in Quito. On route your expert guide will provide you complete information about Quito and some important remarks about your trip. Overnight at hotel of your selection.
Day 2 .- Quito-La Selva Jungle lodge. Transfer out national Flight Quito-Coca, (45 minutes). Once in Coca, we will be welcome by La Selva’ staff, which will transfer you to the river dock to board a motorized canoe and start a two and a half hour ride down river Napo. After, 15 minutes walk we will reach a paddle canoe towards Garzacocha Lake where LA SELVA lodge is located.
Day 3 through day 4.- Expedition at La Selva lodge. We will provide you many excursions to be chosen according to your interest and personal skills. All the expeditions are very flexible and it will be organized and managed day by day for you and your guide.
Day 5.- La Selva - Quito Transfer out national Flight Coca – Quito. Overnight at hotel of your selection in Quito.
Day 6.- Quito / Galapagos / Dragon Hill (Santa Cruz Island) Transfer out national flight Quito – Galapagos (EQ193). Once you arrive at Baltra, our guide will be waiting for you to escorts you to Coral I. In the afternoon visit to Dragon Hill (Santa Cruz).
Day 7.- Rabida Island (Jervis) / Egas Port (Santiago Island) In the morning, you will visit Rábida, which is the eleventh biggest island of the Galapagos. A small lagoon behind saltbush that lines the beach is one of the best places to see flamingos. A herd of sea lions also makes its home there. In the afternoon, stroll along the shore at Puerto Egas, SANTIAGO (James) looking for octopus, starfish and other sea life caught in the tide pools. At low tide, catch a glimpse of marine iguanas as they feed on exposed green algae. Watch for great blue herons, lava herons, oystercatchers and yellow-crowned night herons. Our walk ends at the grottos, deep pools of clear water where we encounter fur sea lions once on the verge of extinction.
Day 8.- Espinoza Point (Fernandina Island) / Vicente Roca Point (Isabela Island) In the morning, we cross the Bolivar Canal and disembark at Punta Espinoza (Fernandina Island). Fernandina is the youngest and most pristine Island found in Galapagos. Hundreds of marine iguanas, bask sea lions, flightless Cormorants can be seen. Evidence of recent lava flows formed by an active volcano stretch their way around the coast. After lunch we are going to visit Vicente Roca, ISABELA. Six volcanoes flowed together and formed Isabela, the largest Island in Galapagos. On a nature walk, discover a salt-water lagoon, a scenic overlook, and a spectacular view of lava fields, volcanic formations and the ocean.
Day 9.- Bartholomew Island / Black Turtle Cove (Santa Cruz Island) After a dry landing at a Bartholomew Island, we will climb 30 minutes up a steep slope to the summit of a once active volcano. Pause along the way to marvel at lava bombs, spatter cones and cinder cones. From the top, gaze out across a panoramic view including the famous "Pinnacle Rock", an eroded tuff cone. Down below, crystal cleat water invites you to snorkel with schools of tropical fish. Penguins often swim in this area. On the other side of the Island encounter sea turtles and white-tipped sharks can be seen. After lunch we will visit Black Turtle cove.
Day 10.- Charles Darwin Station (Santa Cruz Island) / Baltra / Quito / City Tour Quick visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station. Scientists from all over the globe work at the station and conduct biological research from anatomy to zoology. Get your picture taken with the giant tortoises. Then transfer to Baltra to take your flight back to Quito. Overnight at hotel of your selection in Quito.
Day 11.- Quito / International flight. Transfer out international Flight
